Blukudu founder named one of the UK’s most influential women in tech
Each year, Computer Weekly asks the technology industry to nominate who it thinks are the 50 most influential women in UK tech. This year more than 200 women were put forward and we are once again delighted that our co-founder and director is among the nominations. The longlist has been published to recognise the increasing breadth and depth of important roles carried out by women across the technology industry. You can read the list here
Blukudu finalist in prestigious Fintech Champion of the Year 2018 award
Once again we are delighted to announce our award-winning director is one of the finalists for Fintech Champion of the Year in recognition of her contribution to the global Fintech industry over the last 12 months. Organised by Growthbusiness.co.uk and What Investment, the Women in Finance Awards is Europe’s largest diversity initiative in the finance sector, recognising high-achievers, advocates, and role models for women in the industry. The winners will be announced on June 27th at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, with over 700 people expected at the ceremony. The judges received more than 1,000 submissions from which only 13 finalists are selected. We send many congratulations to our director (though we are not at all surprised she’s on the list!).
Blukudu is keynote speaker at FintechNorth at the invitation of the High Commission of Canada
At the invitation of the High Commission of Canada, Blukudu is presenting at FinTechNorth in Leeds on April 25th on the topic UK-Canadian fintech collaboration. We will be providing an introduction to Canada’s growing tech sector and the development of its five superclusters. We will also be talking about 5 case studies of Canadian fintech firms working with UK-based financial services and some of the highlights of recent Canadian Fintech trade missions. FinTech North is a not-for-profit, collaborative project conceived and created through the partnership of White Label Crowdfunding and Whitecap Consulting. We can’t wait – see you there!
Blukudu leads research study on impact of Venture Capital funding on UK economy
Blukudu has successfully completed a 6-month research initiative with the London School of Economics and Political Science. The project was designed and project managed by Blukudu for the UK Department for International Trade (DIT). The quantitative methodology and qualitative research were designed and conducted by ten post graduates and a senior academic from the LSE. The findings demonstrate the significant and growing impact of venture capital on the UK economy and the role of government in bridging the UK funding gap. The results of the research are expected to be published later this year.

We are delighted to be working with Adelpha to support high-growth potential female-led businesses in the UK. Blukudu speaking on the growth of AI and venture capital investment at FinovateEurope
On the first day of the conference at the Excel Centre in east London we will be joining the CEO’s of Clinc, Simudyne and head of innovation at HSBC to talk about Bots, Deep Learning and Machine Learning: What type of AI technology do we need? On the second day we will be on the main stage with Luis Valdich from Citi Ventures and Pascal Bouvier from Santander Innoventures to discuss trends in venture capital investment in 2018 and beyond. Blukudu working with HCL Technologies on new 10-year global digital transformation strategy
Blukudu is delighted to be working with HCL Technologies again, having first worked with this leading Indian outsourcing business in 2015. This new project will focus on designing a strategy for a multi-jurisdiction, multi-year transformation programme across Europe, the United States, India and Asia for a global banking giant.
Blukudu appointed Fintech Specialist to UK Department for International Trade
Blukudu will be working with the Department for International Trade over the next twelve months. We will be representing the UK Government overseas, promoting the UK’s excellence in Fintech and working with overseas corporate venture capital and VC funds to attract greater investment into the sector. Over the last five years, venture capital investment into Fintech has increased substantially and 2017 is expected to be a record year. The UK is a world leader in Fintech and the global centre for financial services. Blukudu co-founder named in 2016 Women in FinTech Powerlist for second year
Innovate Finance has published its “Women in Fintech Powerlist” for 2016. Approximately 200 women in Fintech globally have been featured on their list. The list was created to celebrate the contributions of women who increasingly play a vital role in the development of the global Fintech sector.
Innovate Finance recognise founders, C-level executives, and other industry participants. The project began in March, calling on members of the Fintech community to nominate and submit the names of female colleagues who should be recognised for their contributions to the sector.

Blukudu leads ‘most successful trade mission ever’ for Ontario government
By invitation from the government of Ontario, Canada, Blukudu has designed and lead a large fintech trade mission to the UK to coincide with FinovateEurope2016. Blukudu experts took care of all planning, delivery and on-the-ground support for the Canadian companies, delivering a one-day intensive UK-market readiness seminar for CEOs, curating over one hundred B2B meetings with decision-makers from banks and insurance corporates, VCs and global technology partners, generating over $5million of business in under four days. The mission closed with Blukudu helping the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to the United Kingdom to host an evening reception for senior corporate executives and industry commentators. It has been recognised by the government as the most successful trade mission ever undertaken.
